I know Lucy is still very young, and her ability to fully enjoy the zoo is fairly limited. However, I have been so eager to expose Lucy to as much as I can while she is an infant. I want all those little synapses (or is it neurons) in her brain to start firing, so I've been doing my best to expose her to as many different sounds, sights, and smells as I can. I try to play all different types of music in the house and change her scenery as much as I can without overwhelming her. I figured the zoo would be jam packed with a bunch of new sights, sounds, and smells that she couldn't get around our house.
The morning started early, as usual. At this point, Lucy's schedule was consistent where she would wake up fairly early to eat, and then fall back asleep for another hour or two. I figured this would be perfect for our first trip for the zoo. I had planned that while Lucy went back to sleep for that hour or two, Justin and I would get ready, pack the car, and arrive at the zoo just in time for it to open and just in time for Lucy to be waking up for the day. Apparently Lucy could sense Justin's and my excitement for the zoo because not only did she not fall back asleep for the extra hour, but she kicked her legs and babbled up a storm in her bouncy seat while Justin and I got ready. (It was sooo cute.) Of course she fell asleep on the car ride there but thankfully woke up when we got there. She actually stayed awake for the first half of the trip, and we took lots of pictures of the second half to show her later ;) Lucy did wonderfully and seemed to really enjoy herself.
(Just by looking at the pictures, it doesn't seem that she actually looked at a single animal, but I assure you, she did pay attention to some animals.)
