In the spirit of showing old pictures lately, I thought I might as well go all the way and show what I really looked like 40 weeks pregnant. On the left I am 4 weeks pregnant and the right I am 40 and a whole 5 days before Lucy was born. My belly grew exponentially over the next 5 days. You may recall that I was induced because Little Miss Doodle's amniotic fluid was increasing very quickly. After my water broke the doctor estimated I had about 10 pounds of amniotic fluid! Add that to a 8 lb. 9 oz. baby, and I lost about 19 lbs. instantly. All that baby and all that fluid didn't leave my mid-section untouched. I like to keep it positive, so I will say my stomach now is "decorated" with many, many "Mommy marks." Would anyone like a two-piece swimsuit? I have a few to unload.
