Recently I made the difficult, but very exciting decision to completely be a stay-at-home mom with Lucy. When I found out I was pregnant, I had told my boss that I wanted to stay home with her after she was born. My boss was very supportive, but after a few days came to me with another idea. She asked if I would be interested in working 10 hours a week, mostly from home after Lucy was born. I said, "yes, please!" So, after 6 weeks of maternity leave, I started working 10 hours a week, mostly from home. This sounds like the perfect set-up...however, as soon as Lucy started sleeping soooo well through the night at 5 weeks old, she stopped taking long naps during the day. At first they were a lot of quick 1/2 hour naps, which gradually became a routine of 3 naps a day, usually two 1/2 hour naps and one longer nap about 1 1/2 hours. Since Lucy was very rarely sleeping for 2 hours straight, I found that as soon as she fell asleep I would try to get some work done. This was ok to keep up for awhile, but I found myself getting worn out because I could never nap and nothing was getting done around the house. So I finally made the tough decision to let work go. While it is a little scary to be titled "unemployed" I am so excited to be completely free to play with Lucy all day long! So far it has been absolutely wonderful. I've enjoyed getting a nap in here and there, AND I will now have more time to blog, which is one of my very favorite things! So hopefully I can start blogging more regularly. I have so many ideas to write about, now I just need to do it! Bear with me while I get into a more consistent routine of writing :) I'm so excited and hope you are too!

I think Lucy is pretty excited about me staying home with her...what do you think?
Congrats Abby! Welcome to the club. Hope you love it as much as I do!
