Eek!! Has it really been 2 weeks since my last update?! I think that's a record for my length between posts since I started the blog. My apologies.
So apparently we have a lot to catch up on! Let's see. Thinking back (and reading back) I see where I happily put on January 6th that people keep asking me if I'm ready to have the baby, and I was a smug pregnant lady that said, "no, of course not, I love being pregnant!" Well, it was no sooner than those words left my mouth that baby girl decided to take up every last inch in my belly and make me rather uncomfortable. I think back to my entire pregnancy before and think, "what the heck was I doing?! Why didn't I spend every last minute up off the couch preparing for our new arrival?!" Because now, after 8 hours of work I'm rendered useless for the first couple of hours at home. Our nights have been a lot of J running on the treadmill while I'm upstairs sleeping on the couch with the cats. But then after he is done running, we eat dinner, and I can get a good hour's worth of something useful done around the house (or maybe just watch my latest DVR'd Teen Mom episode, which could maybe in some slight way be considered preparing for LMD's arrival...or, maybe not).
Despite my discomfort and sluggish state, we...ok, ok, my darling husband, was able to paint the nursery! It is a beautiful shade of lavender (pictures to come). Multiple times a day, J and I walk into the room and just stare at the empty walls thinking of what is to come. The room is officially "hers" now. I hope she likes it!
Yesterday we also had our nursery furniture delivered. We ordered a crib and 2 dressers, but unfortunately the store ordered one of the dressers wrong, so we still have to wait for the second dresser to come. I'm loving the furniture with the wall color though! We have the crib set up with the mattress and a quilt, and every time I woke up last night I walked in the room and looked inside the empty crib dreaming of what will be lying there soon.
I have more to catch you up on, such as my note taking during childbirth class (which had to stop during the hour long talk about epidurals where I had to get down off my exercise ball before I passed out). More on that to come though :)
