Oh, the places you will go (and have been).

It’s weird to think that wherever J and I go, Little Miss Doodle is already there with us. It’s just that we can’t hold her and see her in the same way we will come March. So often when J and I are hanging out together just watching TV or whatever, I'll flash forward and think, "I can't wait for our little baby to be here and join in with us." Then I'll remember she is already there. She was there when J and I went to the Blink 182 concert in August, she was there last Sunday when J and I relaxed all day, and she was there last night at the rainy, cold Miami football game (and probably thinking her parents are crazy for sitting in the rain and cold). I just love that she is always there with us. Of course she does more listening than seeing, though. She comes along and shares in the experience no matter where we go. I just really can't wait to hold her in my arms instead of my belly where I can see her face when she experiences all these things for the first time outside my belly.

I think Lady Gaga put it best: I wanna hold 'em like they do in Texas please.

And if you are thinking that quote came out of left field, rest assured. It didn't. J gave me the Lady Gaga CD a couple of days ago as a surprise "Thank you for carrying our baby" gift (P.S. I love him), so expect to hear more of Ms. Gaga’s creative ingeniousness for weeks to come. I still haven’t figured out how J knew that I would like that CD. I guess it might have something to do with me shushing him every time the song Paparazzi came on the radio.

AND in case you were wondering if we are documenting all of the places LMD* has gone with her super-cool parents, we are. Below is her first concert. We made sure she got in some camera time. I hope she was smiling (Who am I kidding, who wouldn't be smiling at a Blink concert?). We also made sure she got in some camera time at her first Miami football game. However since that picture includes more of me than just LMD in my belly, I've decided not to share it - as the hot-sweaty-we-just-lost-the-game look doesn't do much for me (and I'm pretty sure LMD wasn't smiling, so the whole picture was pretty much a bust). We also made sure to document her at her first Purdue football game. Unfortunately, to ensure we got a good shot of the stadium, poor LMD sorta got halfway cut out of the picture. Sorry about that baby girl. No hard feelings, k?

Edited to Add: I suddenly realized that if you are judging my taste in music solely by this post you might think my taste lies somewhere between that of a 16 year old skateboarder and a 14 year old teenybopper. I promise that my taste in music does extend beyond that of a teenager. Let's seeeeee, ooo, for example: I went to a Coldplay concert last summer and loooooved it. That's got to count for something, right?
